Take the RED LINE to the Harvard Square Station. Once on street level, walk through Harvard Yard towards the Science Center (see attached map). If you are facing the front of the Science Center, William James Hall in the big, tall white building down the road (33 Kirkland St.), to the right of the Science Center.

 

From the North

Rte. 128 (95) South:

Take Exit 29A (Arlington/Cambridge) onto Rte.2 East (do not take Rte.2A). Follow Rte. 2 until it narrows into 2 lanes. Stay in the left lane. Go through the light to your left, now you are on Rte. 16 (Alewife Brook Parkway). At the first light (Mobil Gas Station on far right corner) take a right onto Massachusetts Avenue. Continue straight on Mass. Ave. for approximately 2 miles. You will go through Porter Square (T station on your left with tall red sculpture). Continue on Mass. Ave. past Porter Square for about 7-8 blocks (1.3 miles). Take a left onto Everett St. (there is a light and the street is marked). Take your first right onto Oxford St. Take Oxford St. to the end where it curves very sharply to the left. Follow the curve; now you are on Kirkland St. Go straight through the first light and take an immediate left onto Divinity Ave. Take your first right into the parking lot behind William James Hall, the tall white building on the right.

Rte.93 South to Sullivan Station Exit:

At the bottom of the first ramp bear left to Sullivan Station. At the bottom of the second ramp bear right to Sullivan Station. At the lights take a right onto Washington St. Go under the railroad bridge through the lights and continue through Union Square in Somerville. (You will be forced to turn left and then right passing a post office on your right and Dunkin' Donuts on your left.) Continue straight through Union Square (you will see a church without a steeple on your left). At the set of lights where Dali restaurant is on your right, Washington St. becomes Kirkland St. William James Hall is approximately 1/2 mile further on your right. Take a right onto Divinity Ave. just after you pass the tall white/ gray building (William James Hall) but before the light. Take your first right into the parking lot.

From the South or West

Rte. 128 (95) North to the Mass Pike (90) East:

Take Exit 18 (Cambridge/Allston) and stay to the right towards Cambridge. Then

get into the 1eft lane and take a left (before crossing over the bridge) onto Storrow Drive. Follow Storrow Drive until you see a sign to Harvard Square/Cambridge. See directions "From Storrow Drive."

Rte.93 North to Storrow Drive Exit:

Follow Storrow Drive for approximately 2-3 miles until you see a sign for Harvard Square/Cambridge. See directions "From Storrow Drive."

From Storrow Drive traveling West:

Take Exit Harvard Square/ Cambridge straight through the first light (across Memorial Drive) onto JFK St. Continue straight on JFK St. through three lights. At the third light you will see the Harvard T Station on your right and the Harvard Coop on your left (see attached map). Stay in the right lane and veer off to the right underneath the bridge. As you go under the bridge get into the left lane. At the light take a left onto Quincy St. Go one block to the end and take a right onto Kirkland St. Take an immediate left onto Divinity Ave. and your first right into the parking lot. William James Hall is a tall white building.

From Memorial Drive traveling West:

At the light with the boathouse on your left take a right onto JFK St. See above directions "Continue straight on JFK St ...

 

Parking:

The parking lot is behind the building, and four spaces designated for research subjects are at the end of the first row on the left (marked with red signs). If these spaces are available, please park here (otherwise, park in any other free space). Ignore the signs that indicate you need a permit; when you arrive on the 8th floor (Neuroscience Reception Area) we will fill out a guest permit and a lab assistant will put it on the outside of your car.
